This week, Trumbauersville students celebrated Autism Acceptance Week. Each day, they wore themed clothing to promote inclusiveness and engaged in activities to learn about the importance of autism acceptance. During the morning student announcements, important messages explaining what autism is and highlighting the power of acceptance, bravery, and friendship were shared. And students learned about notable individuals with autism, such as Jim Eisenreich, a former Major League Baseball player; Satoshi Tajiri, creator of Pokémon; and Clay Marzo, a professional competitive surfer from Hawaii.
Led by Mrs. Adair-Babel, this short week before the holiday break was both meaningful and impactful. Thank you for supporting our students in developing greater awareness, empathy, and acceptance of others.

The Trumbauersville Elementary PCR Committee—short for Perseverance, Compassion, and Respect—is making a meaningful impact both in school and throughout the community.
This inspiring, student-led group (made up of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade representatives) works together to give back through community outreach projects, creating holiday greeting cards for senior citizens, and planning activities that spread kindness and positivity across the school. This past week, PCR students organized a Spirit Day, where each grade wore a specific color of the rainbow. An easy way to show school spirit and support inclusiveness.
Keep up the great work, Trumbauersville Tigers!

“Meet The Instruments Night” and parent meeting will be held Tuesday April 21st from 6-7:00pm at Strayer Middle School. This event is for any student who might like to learn a musical instrument next year in the band and orchestra program! (Current band and orchestra students do not need to attend this event unless you are considering learning a new instrument.)
At "Meet the Instruments Night" your child will get to try out their top 3 instrument choices before you enroll in the program and get an instrument for them. Parents will also learn more about the QCSD band and orchestra program, get to meet the teachers, learn about instrument rentals, and ask any questions.
You must pre-register for this event, so we will know our anticipated attendance and can provide the correct amount of supplies (mouthpieces, reeds, etc.).
Please click the link below to register:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfp6cv8KWKc_RzqztqbtccME9wXF0wfzLUHlRczFxORMjmIcw/viewform
*Registering for “Meet The Instruments Night” does not enroll your child in the program. It simply allows the students an opportunity to try out the instruments before you rent, purchase, or borrow an instrument.
If you have questions, please contact your school’s music teacher. Visit qcsd.org/music and click the CONTACT page to find their contact information.
There’s an instrument for everyone, we just need to find the right fit for your child!

Thank you to Trumbauersville Elementary 1st grader, Cole, for sharing his very special book recommendation, "Cole’s Very Own Trucks and Things That Go," a personalized book created for Cole by his Grandmother and late Grandfather, affectionately known as "Pop." A treasured book Cole wished to recommend for this special week.
Cole explained that the book follows trucks that collect the letters of his name. And at the end of the story is his favorite part: “at night, when they light up my name!”
Thank you, Cole, for sharing this wonderful story and gift with us. Happy Read Across America Week!

Today, we would like to thank fourth-grader Wyatt for sharing his book recommendation, "Missing Mike," by Shari Green.
“The story is interesting because it’s about a dog named Mike, who survives a fire but becomes lost in the chaos. I haven't finished the book yet, but I’m excited to learn if he finds his family.”
Thank you, Wyatt, for your recommendation!

Happy Read Across America Week! Throughout the week, students at Trumbauersville Elementary will be sharing and recommending their favorite books as part of the celebration.
Today, we would like to thank fifth-grader Ember for sharing her book recommendation, The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau.
Ember shared that the story takes place in an underground city where everything is aging and beginning to fall apart, and the lights may soon go out forever. Although she has not yet finished the book, she is eager to discover what happens next. Will the lights go out, or will the main characters save the day?
